Who Am I?

August 20, 2015 by Michelle Filed Under: Life, Work 2 Comments

I have been thrown into a complete tailspin.

I took a Myers Briggs {or is it Briggs Myers?} type test today to see if my personality has changed any.  Here’s the deal.  I am an INTROVERT.  Say it slowly with me: IN.TRO.VERT.

But when I tell people that they act shocked, like I punched them in the gut or something.  And it’s usually followed by “NO.WAY!” “I don’t believe you!” or something of the like.

I am what I am, people.  You can’t change me.

I am by all accounts an Introvert.

My company does a 3-day, 6-city symposium every January and by the end of it I just want to be totally and completely alone…with earplugs…for days.  People exhaust me.  Totally.  After I do that symposium I literally want to go hide in a cave for like, an entire day.  Some of you might can relate to that.

So anyway, I decided that I would take this test to see if I still am in fact, an introvert.

I’m speechless.

When I did the Myers Briggs test about six years ago I was ISFJ = Introvert, Sensor, Feeler and Judger.  Pretty accurate.

14 (2)

Today I got I-or-E, S, F-or-T, J.

What is happening!?  WHO AM I?! I don’t even know ME anymore!!

My husband AND my kids AND my friends are having a really strange and STRONG impact on me.  They have changed me…I am morphing into someone else…and I don’t even know her!

I am becoming more extroverted, less introverted {I really do blame this on the kids more than the hubs}.  And more of a thinker than a feeler?!!?! {I blame this one on my j-o-b}

What in the world?!

I have to be honest, I was really surprised.  I was confident in my introversion.  Andrew, however, said “Just like I keep saying!” – He believes my introversion is a total facade.

What about you?

Are you an introvert or extrovert? More sensory or intuitive? Feeler or Thinker? Judging or Perceiving?  Not sure of your personality profile? Take the test!

You might be just as surprised as I was!

Oh wow! I, too, have always been (I think!) an introvert. I may have to take this!

It’s interesting how these can change over time. I’ve been an INFJ since college – but who knows what I’ll be 10 years from now!
