Break The Fast

August 19, 2015 by Michelle Filed Under: Being a Mom, Life Leave a Comment

Wikipedia says that breakfast is the first meal taken after rising from a night’s sleep, most often eaten in the early morning before undertaking the day’s work.

The break in the fast.

Wiki also says that foods most commonly included in breakfast are carbs, fruits, veggies, eggs, meat and some kind of beverage.

I don’t know about you, but our little family does breakfast.  And it most often includes carbs.

And when momma hasn’t gone to the store…one certain little person is unhappy about the choices for his breakfast…

Yesterday when I brought him downstairs for breakfast, I asked his daddy, “Daddy, would you fix him some fren….” and was cut off by the, “Uuuuhhhhh…..muffins?”

“Oh, yes, muffins!  Daddy, could you fix Reynolds some MUFFINS?!?!  REYNOLDS!!!! You get MUFFINS for breakfast today!!!!”

As if yelling enthusiastically about it would make it more exciting and appealing!!

“French toast, please!”

“Buddy, we don’t have any french toast.  We ate it all yesterday.”

“Cinnamon rolls, please!”

“We don’t have any cinnamon rolls either buddy.  Momma hasn’t been to the store.” {insert self-depricating statements}

“FRENCH TOAST.  PLEASE.”

……………………..

“Hey love, we’re going to eat muffins today, ok.”

“Ok, piece of chocolate muffin, please!”

“Oh.  Uuuuhhhh, we only have blueberry muffins, buddy.”

“Cinnamon rolls! Please!”

God bless America, y’all.

I mean.  I just couldn’t win!!!!

Again today, he had this look on his face like, “WHAT.IS.THIS. and where is my french toast, cinnamon roll, piece of chocolate muffin?!!?!?”

Break The Fast

Tomorrow, by golly!!! We will have it ALLLLLLL.  Well, not french toast, but there will be WAFFLES!!!  And pieces of chocolate muffins!  AND cinnamon rolls!!!

No, kidding.  We’re not going to eat ALL of this.  But I did go to the store tonight after my co-worker’s baby shower {yay for Meredith and baby Sallie!} and I bought all the yummies.  And literally, this is ALL I got.

I told my sweet check out clerk, “Can you tell we’re out of all the breakfast foods in our house?!”  She could totally relate to me.  Her kid likes the.same.thing. every morning just like my kid.

Are you a breakfast eater?  Do you like the sweets or the salty foods?  Fruits and veggies?

Here’s to breakfast and having all the foods YOU enjoy!

OH!  And have you seen my post for the $45 Starbucks giftcard giveaway?! It’s not too late to get in on the contest!  It ends this Friday at 11:59pm EST!
