‘Tis The Season To Be Married!
This must be the year! We have 4 weddings in the next 8 weeks for dear friends and I could not be more excited for all of them!
My dear friend, Cameron, was married just a few weeks ago, which technically made 5 weddings for us this summer. But it’s about to get crazy!
Yesterday, Andrew’s sister baby-sat for us so that we could finish up some painting at a rental house. And before she left us for the evening Andrew said, “Hey Sis, can you get out your calendar so we can look at a few weekends that we have weddings to go to?” {She’s fabulous and R loves her to bits!} But not just a few weddings, several…almost every other weekend to be exact!
In processing thru the dates and times and when we’ll have to leave to get to the weddings, yada yada, it hit me how excited I am for these friends. One is getting married after a very short engagement, another after being together for several years. It’s all just wonderful. {Weddings are my FAVORITE!}
My prayer for all these couples is that they don’t just look for the love and joy that their spouse can give to them, but rather, how they can serve, love and bring joy to their spouse. It’s such a greater blessing to look for ways to say “I love you” to the one you’ve been given.
Kind of like that saying you hear at Christmas, “It’s better to give than to receive”…that holds true every day in married life.
Now, to find wedding-appropriate maternity dress(es)….
