Update: The Next Step
It was just 3 weeks ago (geez, it was THAT long ago?!) that I posted about the options we were looking at, to get R and EJ from point a to point b. And I’m happy to say that not only have we make a decision, but we’ve made a purchase!!! Whoo Hooo! A big “Thank You” to all the friends who commented, messaged and texted about what strollers you love most!!!
Last weekend we took a trip to Buy Buy Baby to check out our options {together…I’d already done a preview by myself :)}. Andrew was leary of both the BOB and City Mini GT mainly due to price. {MAJOR sticker shock. MAJOR.} It was one of those days where you go, “really? REALLY?! Does it REALLY need to cost that much to be useful, effective, perform the job for which it was made?”
The answer….Yes. Yes. It does.
We found an associate who could answer questions for us and show us all the features {read: bells and whistles} and we decided that since I’m not really a “runner”, but rather a walker {but I can walk circles around you strollers out there…haha. Get it?} that we didn’t need the true running stroller that BOB offered. Plus, he was a little too complicated for me and a little bit bulkier. Not to mention almost $100 more than the City Mini GT. AND you still have to purchase all the accessories like a tray table (cup holder). Seriously. They get you on these fancy models.
So, the City Mini GT it was. But we weren’t ready to purchase last weekend. Andrew needed some time to digest the cost. {Remember the budget? The man hates to spend money.}
So, this past Friday, some sweet girlfriends presented me with an amazing gift, a gift card to Buy Buy Baby to go towards our stroller. In the words of another friend, “Huzzah!” I was terribly excited and slightly overwhelmed by the generosity. What a blessing!!
Saturday morning, before it became 100+ outside, we went down to our local Market on Main (it’s so great!) and then headed to Buy Buy Baby to make our major purchase. We ran through the decision one more time, are we being rational (probably not…), is this a good purchase (yes, especially if there ends up being a 3rd kid…).
Bite the bullet.
We made our request, laid out the cash, loaded her up and here she is in all her red beauty. And duh, she had to be RED!!
