Christmas In January
This past weekend we got the chance to go back to my home…finally…for Christmas (better late than never?).
Wondering why it took so long? Remember back a few weeks. My mom hijacked Christmas and then I hijacked New Year’s. So this was the first weekend that everyone was…well, well. Save the fact that R was diagnosed with a double ear infection Friday morning (we will not be deterred!!) and then Sunday my dad was told he had not only a sinus infection, but also an ear infection… I thought only toddlers got those, but whatever. Bless him.
So anyway, we went to Macon Friday afternoon and had a wonderful time with my family.
Saturday was a little fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants kind of day. We were all finally up and ready by lunchtime (6 adults, 4 kids, a dog and a cat…) so we went to a favorite local pizza joint for lunch. Afterwards was the best part. All of us, Grammy, Pop Pop, cousins and all went to the “big slide”. There’s a hill in downtown Macon called Coleman’s Hill and someone built a slide last Summer. For about an hour (or less?) we raced down and back up again, taking turns with other kids (and their parents!), having an absolute blast!
I hope you had a great weekend doing something that made you go “weeeee!”!!
