This afternoon a co-worker friend of mine walked into my office and said, “Whatcha doin’ this weekend?” Trying not to sound completely exhausted, I said “I have no idea, I haven’t gotten to the point of thinking about the weekend.” When, really, I had….I had already planned out the projects I wanted to attack come Saturday morning, once I’d had my 8+ hours of much needed sleep/rest! My friend came back with, “Because I know you and Andrew aren’t just going to sit around doing nothing!” How well she knows me and my beau 🙂
So, the first of the 3 (and I’m still convincing myself that ALL three projects WILL get done, so help me God) starts with the below.
The wonderful lady that we bought our house from moved into an assisted living home and was selling much of her belongings, including furniture. We opted to purchase this traditional metal patio set, complete with love-seat, 2 chairs and a little coffee table (at least, what I’m using it for in my arrangement).
I decided last weekend that I liked it out here under this massive (beautiful!) oak tree, right next to an old tree stump:
Then, I’d read in a new favorite blog, The Hunted Interior where she’d created a tree stump table. PERFECT! We have a tree stump and it’s right next to the love-seat! A perfect place for a table (duuuhh!)!! {This will be Andrew’s part of the project. He just doesn’t know it until he reads this post! hehe}
Then, as I observed my little arrangement from the patio, proud of myself for being so brilliant to move it off the patio and into the yard, I decided that you couldn’t really see the furniture very well. Hmmm. Now what? But I like it out here under the tree.
I decided that it needed a POP of color if it were to stay where I felt it now belonged. Most of this week I’ve been bouncing colors back and forth in my little brain – should it be green, aqua, magenta, bright yellow?? Check back tomorrow to see which color(s) I decide to go with – it should be pretty fun!
For now, I’ve got to do some research and spend some q-t with my main man. Happy Friday night everyone!
