Fall Makeover
I am not a beauty blogger {I kind of wish I was or had that knack, but I don’t!}, nor do I know much at all about makeup {which would make me a REALLY bad beauty blogger!}… As proof, for those of you that follow me on Instagram, you know that two Saturdays ago I posted a picture of a million shades of eye shadows while at Ulta with the caption of “#overwhelmed…I need a friend to help me figure all of this out!”
That was my plea for help. I am clueless when it comes to makeup – eye makeup to be specific.
There’s a girl I work with {she knows who she is!} who has this amazing ability to blend shadows and do all sorts of fun things with fun shades {that terrify me!} and she looks perfectly beautiful!
I don’t really aspire to be like her…like I said, some of those shades terrify me!…but I want to be a little more brave in my color choices.
Lucky for me, my Mary Kay consultant, Phyllis, happened to jump on the IG that day and commented, “That’s what your Mary Kay consultant is for!” Then she reminded me that I could try out colors before I purchased them AND then if I bought them and didn’t like them I could return them for 100% money back…guaranteed.
I mean…how can you say no? Someone to help me…AND if I don’t like it first of all, I don’t have to buy it. But even if I DO buy it…if I don’t like it, I can return it. SOLD.
She came over yesterday afternoon.
Andrew asked Tuesday night, “What are you doing tomorrow afternoon?”
“I’m getting a makeover!” all giddy-like. Excited to learn more about eye colors and such.
She showed up at my house with all of her goodies. {Isn’t she fabulous!}
And then we got down to business. First, we went through the skin care routine.
And if you haven’t tried their eye makeup remover, you have missed out. It is hands-down the best! And she reminded me once again the importance of taking off your eye makeup EVERY night. EVERY night ladies!!! See all that gunk!? gross. Then, with a squeaky clean face, we started putting my face back together 🙂
She answered all of my questions about makeups, eyecare, eye shadows, etc.
We looked at various shades of eye color and she gave me lots of ideas of what to do with them – how to use them, like who knew that you could use the bright {or crazy!} color as an eye liner?! Yes, I know people do this, but I never have! And now I know how to do it! So don’t bee shocked if you see me wearing this purple and black trio…whaaat!?
Totally kidding. I’m not THAT brave!
Anyway, I’m excited about my new Fall look and the time Phyllis gave to me yesterday!
If you’re looking for someone to give you some ideas, tips and just plain advice on makeup, Phyllis is your lady! Check out her website and give her a call!
So fun! I bet you look great!
Hey Christine! It was a lot of fun…and maybe less intimidating for me since it wasn’t a party setting. I think the colors I chose are pretty…and hopefully accent my eyes a little! My hubs told me I was beautiful BEFORE the makeover…and I’m not really sure if that meant that he liked it or not…haha! 🙂
