ISO New Camera
My tattle-tale self says, “Andrew broke my camera.”
And this is what happened:
Yesterday, Reynolds and I were putting up the Happy Birthday banner for Eliza Jane’s birthday {birthdays start about 2 weeks early in our home…and yes, I can barely believe that she will be ONE in 13 days}. I grabbed the camera, thinking this was a cute photo op, gave it to Andrew and asked him to take some pics of Reynolds “helping” me put up this banner.
Andrew took a few photos and the next thing I know, he hurls the camera across the room. He was standing still.
I turned around, looked at him like he was some sort of alien and said, “What are you doing?!”
He just stood there and laughed…as if he’d had no idea that he’d slammed my camera to the floor. He said, “I don’t know what just happened…”
WHAT?!?!!!?!?! You were standing there…and now the camera is over here?!!??!
He seemed confused. As was I. This must have been an out-of-body-experience…
Then…he proceeded to take apart the camera.
At one point, I gazed upon him holding his tiny screwdriver, and all the little camera pieces laying on the table and I said, “Am I buying a new camera this week? I am. Aren’t I?”
He said, “This probably voids the warranty…”

Then he says, “I found the part I need online. 20 bucks.”
I’m skeptical that “20 bucks” is going to fix this…
Is it worth it? Should we just get a new camera? We’ve had this one for 3 years. Just a basic point a shoot Nikon.
Debating over here. If you’ve got a great camera recommendation, please let me know!
Thank you and have a great night!
Whoops! I hate when things like that happen. I would be so upset if my camera got broken! Hope you can fix it soon. 🙂
Thanks Bethany! Still trying to figure out if it’s worth it to fix or just buy a new… 🙂
Oh wow! How frustrating that your camera broke! I’d say to try the $20 fix and go from there.
It was pretty comical, Susannah! I think we may go that route. I’ve got to have a back-up plan just in case it doesn’t work. Sweet Eliza Jane turns one on 8/30! Must have pictures! 🙂
It’s probably worth buying the piece and trying it…if it works, $20 is a lot less than it will cost to buy a new camera!
Thanks Christine! We’ll see what the hubs decides to do…it’s all up to him at this point! 🙂
