Let Your Speech Always Be…
It’s funny how we humans so often just say whatever , without giving thought as to how it will be received by others.
I encounter this every day. From folks just blasting my employees to others whose initial reaction is to accuse, rather than question for discovery. Then there are those that just flippantly say whatever they think, inappropriate or not; inconsiderate of feelings.
Don’t get me wrong, I am FAR from perfect and have a plank in both my eyes. My purpose in writing this blog is to remind my friends (as well as myself) to take a milli-second to think before speaking.
Consider, if you will, how your words might sound to the person you’re speaking to and adjust them accordingly.
In my mind, the goal should always be to lift someone up, not tear them down. Don’t leave someone feeling like they are unimportant, unworthy, dumb or the size of a cow (pregnancy-related….).
“Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt…” – Colossians 4:6a
And then remember what your momma taught you…”if you can’t say anything nice….” You know the rest.
Friends, encourage someone tomorrow!!
So true! Thanks for the reminder! I really enjoy your blog!
Thanks Judy! I’m so glad you’re enjoying my random thoughts!
