March So Far
Well friends, we’re are officially half way thru March! Andrew asked me this morning if it was St. Patrick’s day. You would think that my red-head would know the date of his favorite holiday… When I challenged him on his question, “You really think TODAY, March FIFTEENTH, is St. Pat’s?!” He said, “Well, I know it’s an odd day…either the 15th or the 17th.”
Bless him.
I feel like his red hair should be taken away from him, stripped of his Irish heritage.
So here we are, a mere two days from St. Patrick’s day. On my Google “time hop” this photo came up today and I nearly cried. Two years have flown. I was pregnant with Eliza Jane…and R was so small…
Reading: Trying to read some magazines…I feel like my stack is piling up again. There is no time for reading! Last month I posted that I’d checked out A Window Opens and I’m sad to say that I didn’t even get half-way through that book. It just never captured me or my heart so I took it back to the library last week… I’m also still in the Lent study for She Reads Truth and reading For the Love when I have a few minutes before I pass out in the bed at night.
Playing: Always with the kids. Reynolds so sweetly asked me yesterday on the way home if we could go to the park. I couldn’t say no. So there we were, me in my dress and heels with the two wild banshees running around the park. R yelled at me at one point to “Get up here! Momma!” I laughed and explained that it was impossible for me to climb the ladder to the rock wall in my dress and heels. He seemed puzzled by my comment.
Watching: Reynolds play. It’s 8:18 p.m. and we’re trying something new with our night-owl of a toddler. I read some crazy parenting article at the advice of my mom… about toddlers who don’t like to go to sleep at night. It said to take the latest time that he’s stayed up recently {in all honesty, it’s been WAY past 9 p.m., even before this crazy DST mess} and back it up 30 minutes and make that his bed time. So here we are…and hopefully it will work. Else Grammy is coming to stay 🙂
Showing: I don’t really have anything to show… Eliza Jane is showing her belly. So that’s fun. “Eliza Jane, put your shirt down.” “ELIZA JANE! Put DOWN your SHIRT!” She thinks it’s hilarious.
Cooking: Just like last month, I’ve been super slack… I made some burritoish enchiladas tonight for supper. Andrew said it was good. He ate it, so I guess it was.
Eating: Veggies, fruits, you know, real food. I’m trying to stay away from carbs and sugars… My desk at work often looks like a produce stand.
Drinking: Whatever Andrew brings me. Last night I posted on FB that it took him three minutes to open a bottle of Prosecco because he wanted to show me the proper way to open it. This all has to do with his wine class and the fact that he passed his intro Sommelier class last month!
Calling: My mom. We’re trying to book our family reunion trip this summer to Amelia Island…Finding a place for ALL of us to stay is fun.
Texting: Dana, Ann, mom and various others
Tweeting: Not much of anything…
Pinning: Food for kids! Anything that looks remotely appealing to this picky eater we have.
Going: Tomorrow night I’m going to my first Barre 3 class and I’m so excited! That’s the extent of anything “going” right now. No travel plans in the works…
Loving: My husband and our kids.
Hating: Cancer. A friend from highschool – her daughter has retinoblastoma and started her chemo today. If you would, please pray for little Dylan, she’s only 11 months old.
Thinking: Today was an eventful day. This week is busy at work and life in general.
Feeling: Tired…a little drained. Thankful.
Hoping: That it rains soon to wash some of the pollen away. And to bring some perkiness to my flowers.
Listening: To Reynolds “drill”. After we put Eliza Jane to bed, he picked up his drill {it’s really my drill} and said, “Momma, may I drill?” Of course, baby. And wait, now he has his guitar and he’s singing.
Smelling: Hot dogs. I love the smell of hot dogs. And that’s what the kids had for supper tonight.
Celebrating: Spring. I LOVE Spring and am so happy that it’s here. I love the flowers and the trees that are blooming. I love the season of Easter and the joyful celebration that it is.
Ordering: I ordered some shirts for Andrew the other day…and a couple of dresses for myself {thanks, The Limited.}.
Thanking: My husband. For getting his hair cut. 🙂
Considering: Running for President. {kidding.}
Finding: I found this awesome photo of me last night. Taken when I was 13 months old, I’m pretty sure Eliza Jane is my long-lost red-headed twin.
Starting: Planning R’s bday. He’s going to be THREE in a little over a month. I can’t even.
Finishing: This blog post so I can go to bed. Oh, wait. I still have to put R to bed…
I may have to start a new category: Best thing R has said to me today: Momma, you my best friend. You and daddy and sister. {I may have melted}
Night night, y’all.
