Surrender in Action: When God Says ‘Write,’ I Write
What Does It Mean To Surrender?
Because I don’t know your story or what God’s plan for you is, I cannot answer that question for you. Only He has the master plan, the puzzle box top or the full playbook.
For me, I keep hearing Him calling me to write. Isn’t that funny. I haven’t written in three years. And it’s the loudest thing I hear Him say, “Write.”
“Write about Me and what I have done and am doing.”
“Write about what you are learning about My grace which is sufficient for you. My love that is boundless and abundant.”
“Write about the ways I have been the lifter of your face on the hard days. Your Sustainer, Your Provider.”
“Sit down and write.” That means don’t do the laundry, or clean up the house, or start the supper, or check the emails, but sit down right now, and write.
Convenient or not, I’m dropping the nets to write.
The Blessing That Follows
The surrender calls for obedience. It’s not just in letting go of the something, but letting go of the something so that you can do the greater thing. And the greater thing usually involves Him in some magnificent way.
Of course it does, it must. For how would it be a greater thing if it didn’t involve the most incredible Being that has ever been and ever will be.
As I have listened and obeyed, I have found a great joy – for He is working in and through me, just as He said He would.
What I didn’t expect was how writing would become a conversation with Him. As my fingers hit the keys, it’s like He’s right there with me, guiding each word.
Words flow that I never could have planned, or crafted on my own. Words of encouragement, vulnerability and grace. Words that you and I both need to hear (read). Words that remind us He is near.

When we hear his voice, we need to obey and listen. So glad his voice was loud and direction clear! GOD is do good! 😘
Aw, Thanks friend!
Hopefully next time I won’t be so stubborn to obey…
