The New Friday Night
Last Friday night we went to the Zoo. It was member’s night from 6-9, and thinking that it would be a little less crowded and not quite a million degrees hot out…., we went.
We invited along with us our sweet friends DJ and Dana who have a three month old daughter. It was her first trip to see the lions, tigers and bears….oh my! {I had to say it!}
We saw the new entrance {which is beautiful}, the new grizzly bears as they chomped on their watermelons.
A really sweet little owl, that preferred to have a good bit of “personal space”.
The boys got to see the gorilla eat his dinner and we all went through the walk about to gaze at the kangaroos, who are by far, the laziest of animals! Except for the monkeys!! Then we went down to see the giraffes, where Dana took a selfie with “Ginger” – who I think Dana named herself!!
The bestest thing about the giraffes is that you can feed them….of which R is NOT a fan {still!}.
Look at that tongue!!
On to the flamingos, where Reynolds could stand and watch for hours I think
And then to the petting zoo, where THIS guy…ha!! I said “One, two, three…Cheese!”
My kids don’t even smile on command this this kid!!!
We had a fantastic night!
Dana stated a few times, that this is “the new Friday night”…out with families and kids. Loud and crazy.
Gone are the days of happy hours. A quiet dinner for two, or four {adults}. Dancing until the wee hours of the morning….Yep. This is the new Friday night.
{Ain’t nobody got time to be dancing ’til the wee hours of the morning because those babies are gonna wake up at 7am whether you are ready or not!!!}
And, jokingly as it may have been said, we all truly agreed that it’s by far the best way to spend a Friday night….as families.
Giraffe Selfies! I think you’re onto something 🙂 Such a cute post and now I REALLY want to go to the zoo! 🙂
Ha! Megan, I wish you could meet my friend Dana – she is a NUT 🙂 and tons of fun!
We LOVE the zoo – it is SO great, especially if you have kids or your friends have kids…easy entertainment (for hours!!).
Thanks for stopping by!
