What I Believe

I believe in Jesus Christ.  I’m not tied to a denomination and I am not “religious”.  I believe in Jesus and He is real to me.

I am trash apart from Him → In Him I am a child of the High King {John 1:12}

I can do nothing apart from Him → I can do anything by His grace and through His power.  I can run and not grow weary, I can walk and not faint {Isaiah 40:31}

I am LOST without Him → I am found and have purpose in Him {Philippians 3:9}

He is my all in all.  He is the beginning and the end.  He is the first and the last.  He created the earth and all that is in it.  He sets the moon, sun and stars in their courses and he keeps the world in perfect spin.  He knows my innermost being.  He created me in my mother’s womb.  He knows my heart, my thoughts, my fears.  He quiets my anxiousness.  He gives me peace when I desperately need it.  He assures me of His unfailing love.  He holds me in the palm of His hand.  I have never been forsaken by Him; He has never left me.  When all around me has crumbled, He is there.  He is my joy and the lover of my soul.

I was listening to the birds 🐦 this morning and I was listening to the birds 🐦 this morning and wrote a little something:

The birds sing Your praise
From the branches of the trees
Their chorus ever raises
Its not hard for them to praise You
Their Maker, Creator
Other things to worship are few
In the morning they rise
And their song begins
Long before the sun opens their eyes
All day long their refrain carries out
Flitting to and fro
Your glory, alone, their song about
Help me to praise You
As the blue bird and wren
Today, alone, my Savior and Friend
A poem: I was driving down the street It was 30 de A poem:
I was driving down the street
It was 30 degrees
And there you were smiling back at me
I laughed to myself
This cant be real
Those tiny little buds belong on my shelf
Oh Cherry Blossom, your name
And not much to your frame
Yet the colors are never the same
Life from the lifeless
Out of the winter crisis
You point to where life is
The Creator, Sustainer
He is your Painter
And I'm in awe of this Stainer.
24 hours in Athens - my Alma Mater - with my peopl 24 hours in Athens - my Alma Mater - with my people 🤩
Two weeks ago we were in Clemson for Eliza Jane's gymnastics meet - we made a weekend of it, taking in all the fun things. But while we were there, Eliza Jane kept saying, "I don't belong here...we need to go to Athens...and to see the Gymdogs compete."🤣

So, after her meet in Charleston Friday morning we headed north and west 😅
We had the best time. Athens has changed a lot since I was a student, but I showed them where I lived and went to class. We spent way too much 💰 in the Bookstore, not on books. They saw my name in the class of 2002 donations (thanks mom and dad ❤️🖤).
The gymnastics meet was absolutely electrifying - we were all blown away by the talent of the female athletes, and Eliza Jane loved meeting some of them after the meet.
This morning was rainy which hampered some of our plans, but the storm rolled through in time for the baseball game against Samford, which was great fun and a fantastic win for the boys. We waited around after the game to see if the players would come out, and a mom hinted to Reynolds the direction he should go to wait. 🙌🏻 Those players were so kind and polite and it was such a gift to share these memories with my loves.

Here's what Ive learned the last 2 weeks of being on college campuses with my kids:
Hotel rooms matter and some aren't cheap 🤪 2 beds and a pull-out sofa for the win.
Spend the money on the dang jersey, even if its not "His team" - you never know when the players will come out to sign them.
Take a sharpie.
Charge your phone for all the photo-worthy moments.
Wear comfortable shoes because there will always be a lot of walking.
Clear bag policy - get a cute one.
Buy tickets in advance, for the right day (there's a story behind this).
Take lots of pictures - it all goes by so fast.

Go DAGWS ❤️🖤
