What Time Is It Anyway?
For weeks we had warning. “Don’t forget to ‘Spring Forward'” we were reminded.
I even got this terrible meme from a friend Friday morning, to share with my staff:
See, I told you it was terrible. {It’s even wrong…’turn back’?}
I still laughed.
But seriously, how many of us woke up Sunday morning wondering what time was it really? Your phone automatically changes, if it’s ‘smart’, I guess…
But nothing else does. So you spend the next 24+ hrs walking around your house changing all the clocks.
Then, if you’re like me, you’re sitting in a meeting this morning and realize that somehow your watch is 2 days off {thanks Leap year} AND an hour behind. For reals? Come.on.
That’s the type of time warp I seemed to be in.
And then there are the kids.
Y’all. The devil created all this time change mess. And I’m not even kidding. Eliza Jane has been screaming for 36 hours. Reynolds fell asleep in the car this morning on the way to school {never happened before, at least since he wasn’t a baby-baby}. They don’t know what to do!!!! And naps are a total disaster.
I’ve read a lot of history about daylight savings time and I’ve heard a lot of controversy too. This article made me chuckle a bit: ‘America’s Greatest Shame’
What are your thoughts on springing forward and falling back? How does it affect you or your kids? Any secrets of getting over the shock to your body that you want to share? 🙂
The time change always makes me think of Tracy Jordan on 30 Rock…”what the hell time is it?!”
Christine! You’re so right…and I feel like I’m still there… 😉
Only positive is it gets dark later, thus more time outside…..other than that, give us our hour back
