A Mom’s Thoughts…Halftime Show
I’m writing this as I watch the Super Bowl…and sorry, but not sorry, why is it ok for someone to prance around with her rear hanging out? For however many years we’ve watched scantily-clad females hop around on a stage or on the turf and it just makes me mad. Why aren’t they comfortable in their own skin and with their voices to wear pants and a shirt just like all the men do?
Both the lead singer of Cold Play AND Bruno Mars wore LONG sleeves AND pants. But yet, the girl does not.
And hate me if you want, but I by-far felt like the songs the men did were more enjoyable, probably because I wasn’t angry about looking at them while they sang.
Yes, I know I could turn the channel. Yes, I know I could look the other way. But does no one else care? Are there not enough people out there, females even, who are put off and appalled by this? I hope I’m not the only one.
I just don’t get it.
And I don’t know how to make it better.
I just hope that somehow it changes because if it doesn’t, in the blink of an eye, even less clothing will somehow be “acceptable” and I will be even more appalled and I will still be praying that these girls will somehow find their worth in other things than what it’s currently in…
That’s all.
Agreed. That’s why we do not have a TV in our home:) I don’t need this garbage and objectifying of women in my space:)
