Our Gender Reveal

Last night we posted on Instagram and FaceBook that we are having another BOY!!!!

Reynolds has been telling everyone for the last several weeks that “Almond” was a boy and a small part of me was going to be heart-broken if it wasn’t a boy!

Yesterday morning as we waited to go in for our ultrasound I prayed for a healthy baby, no matter the gender.

As our sonographer checked out different parts of our baby – the brain, the heart, the lips, the nose…I was wondering how long she was going to keep us in suspense.

Andrew was literally a foot from the video screen.

We had referred to the baby as “he” and she said, “Ooh, wait, do y’all already know what it is?” When we laughed and said no, she questioned, “So do you want to find out today?”

“Oh yes!”

And then we told her about Reynolds and how he’s told everyone that he’s having a brother…

She said, “Ok, so are you ready?”

Once we said yes, she wasted no time.

Andrew said, “OOOOOOHHHH.”

And I said, “I think I see a turtle!”

She laughed and affirmed my comment.

Andrew and I high-fived each other and noted that Reynolds would be so excited.

Our plan to reveal the gender to Reynolds and Eliza Jane had been to get blue silly string and spray them…thinking it would either go really well…or not.
