All Those Christmas Photos!
Do y’all remember those commercials from several years ago {I’m dating myself}, when digital cameras first became really popular – the commercial where you saw all the people from images in your camera and :poof!: someone would disappear in order to take that picture of Aunt Janice blowing out her 60th birthday cake? Does anyone else remember those commercials? I tried really hard to find one on youtube…nearly impossible. Well, totally impossible for me. Please, could someone find that commercial for me? 🙂
All because when digital cameras came out, we stopped developing our pictures. We stopped printing those treasured moments. The pictures just sat in our camera…forever.
Why do we take hundreds of photos at weddings, parties, family gatherings even, if we’re not going to DO something with the prints?!
Nothing.
We come home. Download them on an already over-crowded computer {if we remember…}. Perhaps we’ll upload them to some “cloud” so that they’re safe…
And then they sit.
Y’all. I’m the worst!
Well, not this year. Yesterday we got home and I plugged in the camera….391 photos from Christmas morning on.
Three hundred ninety ONE photos.
Lawdy.
That’s after I deleted out the really bad/fuzzy/weird looking ones.
I already had a few ideas in mind. Order prints of the family photos: for us, my parents and brother. Order a book or calendar or something for us and probably my mom.
I had an email from Shutterfly…code: EPIC to save 50% off EVERYTHING. {GO!!! →Shutterfly.com←}
THEN, this afternoon I got an email from World Market {as probably the rest of the email-subscribing US}: FREE Shutterfly calendar! Hollerrrrrr. Momma hit the jackpot! Free is better than 50% off any day. What!? That’s right.
Grammy is getting a New Year’s present! {shhh…don’t tell her!}
This thing is probably going to take me all night, but that’s ok. It’s well worth it to print something that we can all look and laugh at for years to come!
I’m also printing a book of ALL the pics for us to treasure because I’m trying to win mom of the year in these last few days of 2015….no snickering…
What do you do with all of your photos? Do you print them, make books or…? Please share!

I make a book each year for my grandchildren and give it to them on their birthday. Jack turned four in November and I gave him a photo book (I use Snapfish) that was all about the year he was three – his started with his third birthday in 2014 and ran thru to Halloween 2015. The kids (and their Moms) love it. My sister does a yearly calendar of her grandchildren that she gives to her sons and my parents
I think this is one of the sweetest and most thoughtful gifts!! You are wonderful to take the time to upload, sort, organize, etc. to be able to do this for each grandchild! Andrew and I talked about doing a 2015 year-wrap-up. But you know that will take me all day long!
