Disney : The First Two Days
So many people have asked me this week how Disney was.
“Amazing. Wonderful. So fun. HOT. It was really, really great.”
The Magic Kingdom was in fact, MAGICAL. But wait, that’s for a later post 🙂
The first two days were really fantastic. We left our home at the crack of dawn that Sunday morning, with kids half-dressed, milk and waffles in hand. The goal was to be at our hotel by 3 p.m. for Andrew to have his first meeting.
Side note…and believe this if you can, the whole purpose in going to Disney, originally, was for a class Andrew is taking for grad school. I know. When he told me in March that he had to go, I was basically like, “not without me and the kids! :)” Thankfully, his professor is also a friend and welcomed us to come along on the trip!
So Andrew had a class meeting that Sunday night, which was fine. The kids and I got acclimated to our hotel →R got a new hat!We walked over to Disney Springs {which was a 5 minute walk away} and then had supper by the pool.
Bright and early Monday morning we eagerly awaited the elevator so we could get on the bus to Epcot! {Appliqué shirts by Institches Designs!}
The Art of Disney…
The butterfly exhibit was beautifulAnd the flowers were amazing
Then we found daddy and went to space. This one is for daddy since his favorite movie is Lion King.
Then we went to Colortopia – by Glidden paints… Here’s the picture they painted!
Next was back to the Fast Track where Eliza Jane found herself a new Chevy truck 😉
On Monday we also made our announcement of the third set of ears that will be joining our family in November.
Then we called it a day and went back to our hotel. Eliza Jane was so exhausted she passed out on the bus ride back.
Tuesday morning we got up and had breakfast with Pluto and Goofy! R was “cool” as long as you were holding him. Eliza Jane on the other hand nearly leapt across the table at me when Pluto came near her.
Then we were off to Universal Studios Over at Jurassic Park we found a really great obstacle course/tree house thing that Eliza Jane loved and literally just took off without us!
And then what I thought was the best part about this park was Seuss Landing…
Then Reynolds had asked me the day before to get his “pace fainted” and when I saw that there was someone in Seuss Landing, we got a super hero mask!
And then, thankfully, the kids passed out. So while they slept and daddy was in “class” riding rides and doing behind-the-scenes stuff, I enjoyed the Comic Strip world.
We also had an opportunity to meet Spiderman but Reynolds got a little stage fright and said to him, when it was our turn for a photo, “I’ll try again next time.” 🙁 Spiderman was a good sport about it and told him that was cool.
Of course there were many other parts to Universal, like Harry Potter and all the other Marvel Superheros, but they weren’t really small-kid friendly so we stuck to the comic strip and Seuss landing.
Every night we were exhausted. Every night we put the kids in their beds by 8 p.m., grabbed our iPads and whatever else and sat in the hallway to chat about the day and plan for the next, while the kids fell asleep. Every night at 9 p.m. we sat in the bed with the curtains open long enough to watch the fireworks from Epcot before we went to sleep ourselves. We all slept like babies.
Stay tuned for tomorrow’s post – days 3 and 4!
Looks like A LOT of fun! Great pics of the kiddos
