How Am I Doing?
I’ve had the amazing privilege this week to complete most of my employee reviews. To give folks the opportunity to hear what their peers and I think about their performance and how they’re doing. First I must say that they were easy…and that’s pretty major considering I have seven reporting directly to me. Seven people who are doing exceptional work. Seven people who come into our office (or log on from home) and get.the.job.done. With grace, smiles and the willingness to keep going, even when days are hard. Seven different personalities are represented, though most are “perfectionists”, they all are extremely hard working and dedicated to our company and what we’re about. They are an amazing group and I am extremely proud of and thankful for each of them.
So, it was a really good year. Full of challenges and things that force you to become better at what you’re doing. And they are becoming better. They’re learning and pushing themselves to do better and really serve the folks that we’re working with day in and day out.
I’m not the best encourager, but I hope that the employees who have had their reviews this week, who had the question of “How am I doing?” answered, found that they are doing exceptionally well.
To my friends out there who might be discouraged in their work, keep striving and giving your all each and every day…and find the joy in it. I promise, it will not go unnoticed. Someone will see it. Don’t lose heart.
