January : So Far

Happy Thursday Friends! We are only 15 days into this brand new year of 2016 and I feel like so much has already happened in our lives! I hope you’re off to a great start this new year!

I’m back to one of my favorite Blog-tember Challenge posts today!  Currently, what’s happening!

Reading: Seriously.  Who has time for this?  I sat down the other night, Sunday night maybe, and picked up the first magazine I had on my stack to read and it was from SEPTEMBER 2015.  It actually made me kind of sad…  But I’m over it now.  I don’t have time to read.  Or watch T.V.   All I read is my SRT app in the morning…{Want to know more about She Reads Truth?  Ask me!!!}

Playing: There’s this really whack game that R has started playing at night.  Who can scream the loudest {he plays it alone and almost always wins}.  I’m not a fan.  Nor do I “play”.  😀

Watching: The money?  Does that even count?  I posted last week that we’re back on the budget train, and y’all know how much I dislike the budget train.  But I’m watching it closely.  I’ve got one eye in the mirror watching myself too…I can be sneaky some times….  Mint is really great and is helping me stay on target and OUT OF Target!!! bahahahaha.

Trying:  To stay on top of everything!

Cooking:  Sad to say I haven’t really cooked much of anything this week.  We had Zoe’s to go Tuesday night – Andrew bought the large family meal…so that’s lasting a while.  I did cook three chicken breasts in the crock pot last night while we went to see “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” {which is AMAZING!}. I’m not entirely sure of what I’m going to do with that chicken now…maybe some enchiladas?  Ideas please!

Eating:  I’m trying to eat more fruits and veggies…you know, REAL food, during the day.  Today I failed a little, but for the most part, I’m doing great! What are you eating?  Oh, and a girl at work is eating seaweed…for reals. She was getting some of the guys in our department to try it this afternoon. We may have had a few laughs. 😉

Drinking:  Andrew is in grad school {woot!} and this semester he’s taking a wine class….so I had this really great glass of wine the other night, but I have no idea of what kind it was….ha.  Right now though I’m drinking water.

Calling:  Carriers?  We are still in open enrollment in the world of health insurance and things have been super hectic at work this week.  I’ve had some fun issues to work on {not really so much fun…} and have spent a good bit of time on the phone with either carriers or our agents.

Texting:  Ann about lamps and a mirror for her dining room {I guess she thinks I have some sort of design-clue…which I do not!}.  My precious friend, Jennifer, about church.  And Dana about Andrew’s celebration dinner {he was named SC Hotel Manager of the Year yesterday!!!!}.

Pinning: Valentine’s!!!!  I’m so excited, I am actually ahead of the game {at least right now!} for Valentine’s!!

Tweeting: About Andrew and his honor!  Also, I don’t know if I just never noticed it before but at Publix today, my eyes caught the checkout light and it says one one side: “Checkout to Smile About”.  Too cute!   Another reason why shopping is a pleasure there.  {>Follow me on Twitter<}

Going:  Hmmm.  No trips planned in the very near future unfortunately.

Loving:  Jesus.  Andrew.  Our kids.  My friends.  My amazing co-workers and employees.  So much to be thankful for and love!

Hating:  As always, all the hatred and evil in this world.

Thinking:  That my brain is on overdrive this week.  I need to think a little less tonight.  But honestly, I’m thinking of the things that need to get done in the next 24 hours.  About food and drinks for a little happy hour we’re hosting tomorrow night.  And all the things that need to get done this weekend, like, the kids need haircuts!!

Feeling:  Exhausted?  I’m so tired.  I’m going to bed after I publish this bad-boy post!

Hoping:  Oh, I’m always hopeful.  Right now, that R will go to bed without flipping out tonight? 🙂  Hoping that the Aquaphor helps Eliza Jane’s sweet cheeks – they’re so red and chapped from the cold weather!

Listening (to):  The dryer 🙂  I’m doing laundry tonight {3 loads} so I don’t have to do it this weekend!

Celebrating:  I’ve already said it once or twice, but that Andrew got named the SC Hotel Manager of the Year!!!!!!  I am so incredibly proud of him.  He is so great at his job; the Lord has given him an amazing team at his hotel and he is just the best!

Smelling:  Er, nothing… But we sort of have this funny new game when we get home now.  The kids take off their shoes and socks and make funny faces about how their feet smell!!!  hahaha.  And for little ones, they do have stanky feet!!!

Ordering:  Nothing.  I am banned from any sort of shopping. If anyone is ordering anything, may I please live vicariously through you?! 🙂

Thanking:  The heating and air team and electrician who finally got our heat turned back on.  We lost our furnace and part of our a/c unit in the flood last October.  We got the downstairs unit and all finished before Christmas…sometime in December I think.  And then over the last two weeks they’ve been working on the upstairs unit.  When it was all done and ready to be turned on, we were told that our electrical panel/box/whatever was full…so then we had to wait on an electrician.  Blah.  Whatever, it’s all done now.  We all have toasty toes and noses in the morning now and no more sleeping with space heaters for us!  Thank you, Jesus!

Considering:  A few things?  Nothing that I’m ready to publish just yet!

Starting:  To plan the next project for our home.
