The Anywhere Chair
For each of our kids’ first Christmas, they got their own chair – the “Anywhere chair” from Pottery Barn kids. It was their one and only gift. They weren’t even one. They didn’t even know what Christmas was. Or presents for that matter.
So one gift. And one that we knew they could/would grow into and wouldn’t get tossed to Goodwill in a year or two…because isn’t that were all toys go in a year or two?
For the longest time Reynolds’ chair has been in our den, next to the kids’ play area. And Eliza Jane’s chair has been in the living room. Partly because I didn’t really have a spot for it in the den {some days I think it’s being overrun with toys!} and partly because Eliza Jane hadn’t shown much interest in it just yet.
Well, it was recently that Eliza Jane discovered Reynolds’ “anywhere chair”.
So proud of herself for being able to get in and out of {on and off of?} the chair, we decided that it was time to bring hers into the big room. And, also because big brother was becoming a little territorial about his. {MY chair!}
So I maneuvered some toys around and then pulled her little pink anywhere chair into the room.
And this has become our Saturday morning shenanigans.
First, Reynolds tries to sit IN the chair with Eliza Jane…and at first she thinks it’s funny…
Can’t you just imagine what she’s thinking in this one ↑
Then Eliza Jane tries to figure out if she’s happy about big brother taking over her chair or not…
Which usually leads to us separating them out into their own anywhere chairs, and try to get everyone to smile {cheeseburger!!!!} all at the same time.
Huh?
These kids. They keep us on our toes!
I think it’s safe to say that Eliza Jane loves her little pink anywhere chair and feels like the little princess she is, when she’s in it!
