Well, Goodbye June
I don’t even know what has happened to this month or all the good intentions I had for it!
Y’all! I cannot keep up.
Today is the LAST day of June and I had every intention of updating you on what’s going on in Lucas-land, but never had the 15 minutes to sit down and get it out! Well, maybe I did, but I may have traded it for a nap or to read a magazine…? Sorry if I did…
- I am 18.5 weeks pregnant! This little “Almond” is wiggling around all during the day and about 10 p.m. every night. You know, just when I get settled and my eyes get really heavy and I’m almost comatose… Yep, right about then he/she starts punching or twisting or wiggling around and my hand immediately goes to my abdomen to feel all the little moves. #sothankful Pregnancy is so amazing and I do not take it for granted.
- I literally could sleep til noon every day and I think I would still wake up tired.
- We are in the THICK of a house flip. Our first ever true flip and it’s been wildly fun and stressful and all those emotions you have when all your hard-earned cash-money is invested in something that you’re a. praying turns out exactly {or better!} than you imagine! and b. gets finished and then sold super fast! at a really great price! #showmethemoney
- While all our attention has been on children and other homes, ours is falling apart! BAH! {This is the one where you laugh.} Truth. Our home contains 2.5 bathrooms. The night before we hosted our annual ‘Welcome Summer’ party the toilet in the downstairs bathroom – the handle broke. What did we do? Well, we took the handle from the toilet in the upstairs hall bathroom and put it downstairs. It wouldn’t be so bad, but the toilet in our master bathroom is the only one that hasn’t been replaced and it runs continuously. So it has been turned off for oh, two months probably? So now, we have 1 toilet upstairs that works, but has no handle. Oh, and all of our faucets {double vanity/sinks} in the master bathroom are leaking, so they have also been turned off. Aside from the shower, our bathroom is now essentially useless. There are two sinks in the hall bathroom, but because one leaked, we turned it off probably a year ago, so there’s one sink upstairs that works…in the bathroom with the ghetto toilet, that you have to use a screwdriver to flush. Y’all. I cannot make this up. There have been worse home-living situations I know. But I’m starting to get a little crazy about all of this.
- I am SO.THANKFUL for a group of girls in my office who have committed to the 6-week She Reads Truth Acts of the Apostles study. We are meeting every Thursday for lunch {byolunch!} to go over the group study and it has been tremendously wonderful and an incredible blessing in so.many.ways.
- Update on the kiddos: Eliza Jane is finally finding her voice…and her words! We wondered if the sweet girl would ever talk and it turns out she was just biding time. She is loud and crazy and rarely makes any sense, but it’s hilarious! Reynolds really wants a brother and thinks his name should be “AlmondAlmond” – said together, really fast. I told him that “Almond” is a temporary name, until we find out if he/she is a he or she.
- July 14th is when we find out if he/she is a he or a she! And we have GOT to come up with something fun for the kids to do to find out the gender…please share any fun ideas – is there anything more creative than balloons or icing inside cupcakes? Not that those aren’t great – and we may end up doing the cupcake thing, but is there anything else?
Those are the big things that happened this month – and will carry us into July! I hope you had a great June 2016!
Happy 4th of July…from our sweet Eliza Jane!
Did I totally miss the pregnancy announcement or just forget? I think I missed it. So exciting!
Christine! We didn’t do a blog post announcement – but it was in the Disney recap! We were at Disney a month ago an posted a fun little picture on Instagram/Facebook about our “3rd set of ears coming in November” 🙂 I think it was cute..it was the hubs’ idea! 🙂
Hope you are well sweet friend!
Ahhhhhhhh. Love every word of this. It was worth the wait, you busy-tired lady! <3
